Community Involvement
At Lakefield, it is important to us to give back to the community we are so grateful to live and work in.
Our lawyers and staff regularly volunteer for causes that are important to each of us individually, such as Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, Saskatoon YWCA, Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club, and countless others. Recent involvement has included leading a Grade 6/7 legal education program at Westmount Community School, participating in the Saskatoon Heartbeat Run and Run for Women, donating blood through Canadian Blood Services, sponsoring CLASSIC’s Karaoke and Lip Sync Battle, and collecting gifts for the WDM Saskatoon Toy Tree through our annual Toy Drive.
Our lawyers have also offered their expertise on various crown corporation, for-profit and non-profit boards such as Saskatchewan Research Council and Saskatoon Crime Stoppers, and lend their legal services to organizations such as CLASSIC, Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan and NSBA. In addition, we are always first in line to support community events such as the Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner, B’nai Brith and Silver Spoon, with sponsorships, attendance and donations.
As a firm, we choose a cause to focus on or an organization to partner with on an annual basis. As an example, in 2021, we were a major supporter of the Pegasus Project, an initiative created by STARS Air Ambulance to raise funds for their life-saving helicopters. Lakefield LLP was the title sponsor of the Lakefield LLP Rolling Raffle, which raised funds by selling tickets for a grand prize trip for four to Scottsdale.

In 2023, we launched a partnership with Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre and provided volunteers, donations and sponsorships throughout the year. With inflation and the rising costs of groceries, food security has emerged as an urgent need in our community. As such, we decided to extend our partnership with the Saskatoon Food Bank for the 2024 year.
In 2025, we launched a charitable partnership with Ronald McDonald House, an organization that provides a home away from home for families with seriously ill children. Our team has volunteered through the Home for Dinner program, preparing and serving meals for families, and took part in McHappy Day by baking treats for guests and supporting fundraising efforts.
